Assistant Manager - Kyleakin

ELDI Scotland Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at our Kyleakin Service Station. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise in net repair and manufacturing, combined with leadership skills and a good understanding of the aquaculture industry.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing daily operations within our production facility. You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising work across the production hall, from the repair and refurbishment of existing nets to the design and manufacture of new net systems. You will also support the operation of our on-site net washing facility.

Working closely with the management team, you will help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while supporting and developing production staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support production staff in their day-to-day duties.
  • Coordinate workloads and ensure adequate materials and resources are available.
  • Oversee repairs, maintenance, and manufacturing of aquaculture nets.
  • Assist with the operation and management of the net washing facility.
  • Maintain accurate production and operational records.
  • Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and industry partners.

Skills & Experience Required

The successful candidate will have:

  • Several years' experience in net mending, sewing, and ropework.
  • Experience handling and working with a wide variety of nets.
  • A sound understanding of the local aquaculture sector.
  • Strong organisational and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Desirable Skills:

  • Forklift operating experience.
  • Crane operating experience.

Hours & Salary

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Overtime available when required, paid at 1.5x standard rate
  • £19.50 - £21.50 per hour depending on experience,
  • Equivalent to £40,560-£44,720 per annum based on a 40-hour week
