Collaboration with The Ocean Cleanup
ELDI partners with The Ocean Cleanup, a nonprofit initiative developing systems to remove plastic from the world’s oceans. In 2022, ELDI supplied a 2.5 km system, System 03, tailored for marine plastic collection and adapted for gentle operation in ocean conditions.
- Joint effort: Developed and delivered System 03 in collaboration with The Ocean Cleanup to collect plastic in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.
- Design and operation: The system is engineered with safety features to allow marine life to escape while collecting surface debris.
- Operational focus: ELDI supports ongoing operation and maintenance of the system to ensure functionality and reduce downtime.
